Registration will open December 1st for the Spring, 2012 in-town leagues for all players currently enrolled in K-8th grades in Westfield Schools. Players may register by clicking on the link to the left "Girls Softball Registration". Sponsors may also sponsor a team directly (without registering a player). Go directly to http://www.sportssignup.com/Girls-Softball-League-of-Westfield-Online-Registration.start and set up a "corporate" account.
On time player registration will close February 1, 2012. A $25 late fee will be applied for all registrations received after this date. Sponsors may sign up for team sponsorship until March 15, 2012.
REFUND POLICY:
·Prior to first Scheduled game only registration costs will be returned minus all other fees.
·Donations are non-refundable.
AMERICAN LEAGUE (Grades 6th, 7th and 8th)
One division that will play modified American Softball Association (ASA) rules.There will no longer be a "White" and "Blue" Division in the AL League and no tryouts necessary.
NATIONAL LEAGUE (Grades 4th & 5th)
One division under the same In-Town rules that were played in the Spring, 2011 season.
INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUES (Grades Kindergarten-3rd)
The Instructional League for Spring 2012 will be broken down to 4 divisions by individual grade.
All games will be played on Saturdays.
Kindergarteners would play @ McKinley School.
1st graders will play @ Franklin School.
2nd graders will play @ 1:30PM @ Memorial.
3rd graders will play @ 4PM @ Memorial.
Kindergarten games will be T-Ball games with coach pitch introduced at the end of the season. Outs will not be recorded, players will remain on base whether safe or out and all players will bat.
1st graders will play under slightly modified rules beginning with T-ball and progressing to coach pitch at mid-season. Outs will not be recorded, players will remain on base whether safe or out and all players will bat.
2nd graders will play under coach pitch for the entire season. Outs will be recorded and executed (runner does not remain on base if out), but still let everyone bat.
3rd graders will play under modified in-town competitive league rules. The modified rules will begin with coach pitch with a gradual evolution to player/coach pitch in a “simulated” competitive game. Game scores will be kept announcing winners and losers of each game.
